Spotify, the renowned online streaming platform, has acknowledged Nigerian rapper and singer Olamide Adedeji, also known as “Olamide,” as the ‘most influential street pop artiste of his generation’ in a recent announcement.

As per Benewaah Boateng, Spotify’s West Africa Editor, Olamide significantly contributed to elevating Street Pop into mainstream recognition as a unique music genre. Boateng emphasized Olamide’s enduring influence, starting from his debut track, “Eni Duro,” highlighting his role in popularizing dance moves like “Shakiti Bobo” and introducing street slang such as “Baddo Sneh” and “Pepper Dem.”
