Yuletide: Police Deploy Massively In FCT, Warn Against Knockouts, Fireworks
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has deployed a substantial number of personnel across all areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja in preparation for the upcoming yuletide season. According to the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, the deployment is characterized by visible policing at various places of worship and event centers. The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna Garba, has ordered the deployment of human and material resources across the FCT to ensure peace before, during, and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations. Additionally, CP Garba has advised residents to avoid using fireworks and firecrackers that may cause panic, while also urging them to remain vigilant and suspicious of their surroundings. In a separate development, the police have arrested three individuals, Gabriel Abba, Sunday Abba, and Abdulkareem Jaffaru, for their alleged involvement in armed robberies, car snatchings, and one-chance activities within the FCT. The arrests were made in response to actionable intelligence provided by officers and men of the Command.
